Im in the same boat as you. I just bought a D70 and it came with almost the same exact len kit. Ive had lots of fun/luck witht he 70-300mm at my kids softball games. I got some great shots of the kids at the plate , running, fielding etc...

Back to your original question....I just bought a magazine this week by ShutterBug - Digital Photography How-To Guide. One of the articles is about choosing the next lens for your digital SLR. Well worth the price for us rookies :p

I need some serious help with my D50 equipment. I have no experience at all with SLR cameras, and have recently bought a bundle consisting of a Nikon D50 and a Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED AF-S Dxlens. Now I am interested in buying another lens (The Nikon 70-300mm f/4-5.6 AF Zoom Lens) in hope that these two lenses would suit my needs in amateur photography. I intend to photo landscapes, portraits and some ''macro'' (flowers and some insects). So, I would like to know if these lenses are an acceptable choice, having in mind that I can't afford to buy some expensive lenses, as my average monthly salary almost amounts to the price of these cheap ones. Thanks.

I know someone who went to Canada for the weekend and got the I-94 with the correct date on it.
Note that the airline (AA), on his way out of the US, was not willing to take his I-94 since he was going for less than 30 days. So he had to explain to them about his situation and they took it.

Also note that if you have an Indian passport, you will need a visa to go to Canada.

The other option to extend your I-94 is for your employer to refile I-129, and request for extension of stay. This can be done using premium processing.

I did the same thing . Except I returned my I94 while returning to US as the airlines did not take my I94. While returning I just explained my situation to immigration officer and she was knowlegable and issued a new I94.

Thanks for your suggestions - minimalist,prem_goel,gconmymind.

If she attends for the visa stamping in India,
1) When can she go to consulate - before October 1 or after October 1.
2) Does she needs to carry the H1 documents as new H1 candidate or it is a different list. ( She is in here for almost 1.5 yrs on h4, she will not have paystubs. ) . if different can you pls provide me the link where i can find the same(H4 to H1 visa interview).
3) While leaving the country which I-94 she need to give it back(the one with new h1 petition / the I94 which she received she came in as H4)
4) Can they ask for more details like client letter,etc - chennai

If she plans to come back on H4
1) Will she have any issues at port of entry. Can they ask why she is coming on H4 if she has H1.

Just like the the department of Homeland Security has USCIS to make sure that only very few highly-skilled immigrants get visas (thus causing the USRBD), they should also have the "Agency for USRBD" to counter the damage caused by USCIS. I have an LUD of 08/05/2007 on my 2006 approved I-140. I was hoping, like so many of us, that it meant CIS was entering my 485 in the system. But looking at the trend, it seems like CIS may only be gathering data on how many approved I-140 are currently in the system and make projections/plans for future work load etc.

INS doesn't process Labor Certification. So it was either DOL who denied Labors or INS/USCIS who denied 140's. The latter is doubtful, because 140 is filed only with an approved Labor (except for EB1s and NIW), but everything is possible with USCIS. There is a will there is a way, there is no will there are excuses (not enough visas, too many of you, too few processing capacity, we gotta protect American workers from you, damn job stealers, etc.)

yes, everything is possible with USCIS but not at I-485 stage!! You can't say at I-485 why can't you hire americans?? They have to give different reason for denial.

Here is an additional few things that the IV Core could do to ease the PAIN of the several individuals (not the GC pain, the mailing out of the letters pain)

1) Arrange a door to door bus service to pick up the letters from people.
State chapters: CHOP CHOP what are u waiting for, lets get those buses moving!

2) While they are at it maybe the IV voluneteers can also vacuum people's apartments, wash up their pets, potty train the kids, do the dishes the whole 9 yards.
State chapters: WHY are you still glued to ur rears, where is my own personal volunteer??

3) Since IV has unlimited funding, maybe it can also Overnight FedEx all these letters to the White House.
State chapters: Sigh! (Forget it!)

Hey here's a better idea. Why dont WE copy and paste the template from the thread, personalize it, print and sign 2 copies, find 2 envelopes one big and one smaller put a stamp on each one and mail the whole thing out to IV?

Too much work or too much INERTIA?

We are actually quite close to just doing that in NorCal.
We go to temples, train stations, grocery stores and get our own people to sign the letters!

At these places, we have run into several IV members who say things like: "OH THANK YOU, I have been wanting to write this letter.... now where do I need to sign???"

As far as I know:
if your E3 (approved) priority date is current for E2 (approved), you can file 485 (in E2) requesting to use the earliest (E3) priority date. From my understanding, you may be able to do it even when your E2 is pending - but it may be better to wait till you get the E2 approved. Hope it clarifies your question.
